The word psychology is a relatively new term in the history of mankind. The greek root is ψυχή (psuché).
The first description in Thayer's Greek lexicon is breath with subsets in order as follows: breath of life, vital force, that in which there is life, a living being, a living soul.
Failure in trading is extremely personal. When failure happens a trader often feels like there is no place to turn.
Jesse Livermore is considered the first TA trader, a legendary trader in his own time. Yet he ended his own life with ballistic trauma to his head. In his suicide note to his wife, he wrote:
“My dear Nina: Can’t help it. Things have been bad with me. I am tired of fighting. Can’t carry on any longer. This is the only way out. I am unworthy of your love. I am a failure. I am truly sorry, but this is the only way out for me. Love Laurie”.
