I certainly agree with your conclusion. But have no idea how you got there. Derivative futures are being used daily by miners and commercial users for hedging daily on the largest and most efficient exchange in history, Bitmex, an unregulated exchange at that.

And CME and CBOE who run far inferior exchanges are doing their best to use the muscle of the US government to shut Bitmex down through treaties and draconian KYC?AML. Both CME and DBOE are non-players despite getting number one hits when googled.

How you can write such an article without mentioning the largest bitcoin futures market and the critical role it is currently fulfilling?

If CME and/or CBOE had a deliverable contract the current on/off road ramps would be unblocked and open.

It won’t happen and its best it didn’t. Bitcoin needs time for development for what lies ahead.
