One thing that irritates me to no end is the canard that bitcoin has an inflation rate.

It does not and cannot have an inflation rate . . . and it is disservice to bitcoin and the The Bitcoin Standard to maintain it does because by doing so fails to recognize and emphasize bitcoin’s unique intrinsic property that makes it so valuable as money by equating bitcoin with all other forms of money which are inflationary.

Even some of the most respected free market institutions and supporters of bitcoin just don’t “get it”.

By inflation we all are not talking about a general increase in prices . . . but an increase in money supply.

Further, we are not talking about an increase in money supply not backed by gold. Commercial banking is a well understood invention of non-inflationary money creation of self-liquidating commercial paper representing new goods being offered in the market-place (including gold), that is retired from the market-place as those goods are being purchased
